Automobile Manufactures Are In Fact Striving To Generate Eco-friendly Cars
The more we rely on fossil fuels, the more we are going to see our environment polluted by its effects. It’s essential that things begin changing very soon and one of the best ways to start is with vehicles. Cars do have a contribution towards the emissions released which can harm the environment, so it’s no surprise that automobile makers have set about producing environmentally friendly cars.
There are many different types of these eco friendly autos, the most eco friendly being a car that is only powered by battery. Because it is battery powered means has no need for diesel or petrol. While this appears great from the point of view fuel savings and the effect on the environment, there are drawbacks. These cars are still in the early phase even though they have been released to consumers, so their engines are rather limited. What this simply means is that you should recharge the battery after more or less 100 miles, so it doesn’t have a lot of mileage on one run.
The hybrid car is another choice of car consumers can purchase. An environmentally friendly hybrid runs on battery and gasoline. You could be thinking, ‘How is that done?’ Well, I’ll share it with you. As the hybrid car starts to move, it consumes electricity from the battery. When the car gets to a certain speed, it switches to using gas, which gives it plenty of power for the highway. One benefit is the automatic charging of the battery as a result of fuel consumption, so you won’t have to do this yourself.
Plug-in hybrid vehicles are yet one more choice of car. They operate much like the earlier hybrid vehicle and are eco friendly. The plug-in hybrid car does, however, need to be charged up manually whereas this is an automatic function of the regular hybrid. When it comes to fuel consumption, both hybrid car types appear to fare better than your regular car.
A hybrid that can give you 50 miles to the gallon is the Prius developed by Toyota. At a price of about $22,000, this has become a best seller. The Insight by Honda was the first hybrid car to be sold and before Toyota made an entry in the hybrid market. The Honda Insight made customers aware of the hybrid car even if it wasn’t embraced in the same fashion as the Toyota Prius. A top-rated car and priced at approximately $27,000 is the Ford Fusion Hybrid. It is considered by many as the number one hybrid vehicle in the United States. Mitsubishi’s i-MiEV is thought to possess a zero emission level. In terms of Japanese automobile makers, the i-MiEV was among the earliest electric vehicles made.
As technology sees further improvements and the market grows we will see more and more choices for consumers in the hybrid and environmentally friendly car industry.
